4. The Consequences

Because of these circumstances, people often wait too long to visit a doctor. This can cause their medical problems to have serious consequences.

A simple ailment regularly leads to destructive and progressive problems, even though the problem could have been effectively treated or even prevented at an earlier stage. For instance, malaria can lead to serious complications when untreated and worldwide millions of people die because of this disease. The medication for the treatment of malaria costs only a couple of cents.

Dysentery, a serious disorder of the digestive system, can lead to severe diarrhoea. If untreated, it is often fatal to vulnerable persons, like children and the elderly. And to think that dysentery can be treated for minimal costs, just like malaria.
